DMCP Courses: 'Day 2' Training Day for New Plan Deliverers 2021

This day is designed for veterinary surgeons and consultants to bring herd mastitis 'cases' for group discussion and gain specialist advice. The day is also designed for new Mastitis Control Plan Deliverers who need to complete training (previously attended a training 'Day 1' but have yet to attend the second day). Finally, existing Mastitis Control Plan Deliverers will find this day useful as an opportunity to refresh their approach to implementing the Plan on their clients' farms, and benefit from assistance with data interpretation and selection of Plan priorities. 

Delegates will be expected to present a herd case example, including clinical mastitis and cell count data as well as bacteriology if available, and findings following a mastitis control 'ePlan'.

Run by Taurus CPD, this course costs £200.00 + VAT. For registered AHDB Dairy Mastitis Control Plan Deliverers, this course can be selected as one of your CPD training days included in the cost of your individual or practice subscription.

This course counts as the 'Day 2' to complete training for delivery of the AHDB Dairy Mastitis Control Plan.

DMCP Courses: 'Day 1' Training Day for New Plan Deliverers 2021

Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th of March 2021

The course introduces the concepts and research behind the AHDB Dairy Mastitis Control Plan, which was published in peer review in 2007, before being rolled out as a national scheme in 2009. Over two afternoon sessions, prospective Plan Deliverers will work through the stages of making a herd diagnosis, based on mastitis and cell count records, before using the ePlan software to identify relevant control priorities, using information gathered from a farm assessment. Several herd examples will be used to illustrate the approach and time will be made for discussion of topics including marketing the Plan in your practice, communicating change and reducing antibiotic use in dairy herds.

The course is aimed at vets and consultants who wish to become registered AHDB Dairy Mastitis Control Plan Deliverer.

Cost of course £200 + VAT. The cost may be covered by remaining CPD allocation for delegates from a Practice currently subscribing to the DMCP.
